A Smooth Voice on Canada’s Jazz Music Scene Every now and then you come across a voice that catches your attention. It may be its skilful technique or soulful authenticity that catches your ear. All you know is that you’re captivated, moved, soothed, inspired. Voices like that are rare in our climate of teenaged popstars and prepackaged celebrities. But, then again . . . you’ve probably never heard Italian vocalist, Charles Di Raimondo. Charles Di Raimondo is a voice to listen to and a name to watch. As a singer, composer, arranger and performer, he has uncanny ability. A classically trained singer/songwriter/pianist, Charles’ talent and versatility are evident as he sings in an array of genres. His busy singing career has brought him to many venues across Canada, USA, and Italy. He has performed at many clubs, concerts and festivals and Operas extensively in the Toronto and surrounding areas. Charles continues to please audience of all ages with his powerful vocal style and exciting stage presence. Charles most recently released full-length jazz album is entitled, “Summer Rain”. Charles is also an actor, and can be seen in the movies, “Last Call” starring Jeremy Irons, Sissy Spacek and Neve Campbell, Sony’s “Martin and Lewis” with Sean Hayes and Jeremy Northam, and HBO’s “Soul Food”. He recently made a musical appearance in the recebt movie “Amelia” starring Hillary Swank and Richard Gere.
