| The Brantford International Jazz Festival is a growing jazz festival that has quickly garnered a high profile and a quality reputation. We are committed to featuring established and emerging talent representative of all genres of jazz. Submission does NOT guarantee a placement in the festival. All artists/groups will be required to sign a written contract. It will be understood that the Brantford International Jazz Festival Inc. will be purchasing your services as an independent contractor and that no employee relationship exists. International Artistst: Federal Non-Resident Withholding Tax (Regulation 105) for non-Canadian Performers: This is the Federal Government’s form of income tax for non-residents. International groups can apply for a waiver which allows performers to earn a base amount that is non-taxable. The basic exemption is $15,000 for American artists and $5,000 for other foreign artists. Registered non- profit groups from Britain may apply for a complete exemption.
